Once upon a time, I decided to do the most natural thing in the world.
My family and friends asked:
Have you lost your mind? MAYBE
You closed Cute Kids Consignment? YES
What are you going to do? TELL STORIES
Maybe I've lost my mind. Yes, I did close the store
Now, I'm telling stories.
In the beginning, kids scattering toys didn't bother me. Fifteen years later, my children are teenagers. The first time I felt the urge to strangle a child, I knew it was time to find another line of work. The next career would be so enjoyable I would do it free and I'd be so good people would be willing to pay.
So, I started a spiritual search.
What Next?
The answer was surprising. Become a storyteller! A what? Read stories. Who's going to pay me to do that? I considered teaching a drama class .
I contacted day care centers and found one interested. "Just how many children do you have?" "Almost a hundred." What, teach drama to a hundred kids?
Somewhere in that situation was the answer I needed. And it was. It wasn't feasible to teach drama to a hundred kids, I could tell stories to a hundred kids.
